Timberline Teak Bench Set
Rp 9.500.000
Timberline Teak Bench Set – A customer once told us the reason she picked a bench-style dining set over individual chairs was almost embarrassingly simple: fewer things to match. That’s basically the whole appeal of the Timberline set. One table, two long benches, and you’re done deciding, no chasing down a sixth or eighth chair that matches the rest years later when one breaks. Every piece is handcrafted by our artisans in Jepara, part of our full tables collection at Platinum Teak Indonesia furniture manufacture.

What Actually Sets This Apart
Look closely at the legs and you’ll notice they’re not flat, they’re fluted, with vertical grooves running the full length. It’s a small detail, but it’s the kind of thing that photographs well and reads as considered rather than default. The tabletop corners are gently rounded instead of sharp, which matters more than it sounds once you’ve got a table this size in a room people actually walk around.
There’s also a set of brass-toned screws visible along the apron, left exposed rather than hidden. Some buyers ask if that’s a design choice or a shortcut. It’s the former, exposed hardware on solid wood furniture is a fairly traditional joinery approach, and it means the connection can be tightened later if the wood ever settles, instead of being sealed away where nobody can get to it.
Why the Fluted Leg Detail Isn’t Just Decoration
Fluted legs get dismissed sometimes as a purely visual flourish, but there’s a practical side worth mentioning. The grooves add surface texture that catches light differently depending on the angle you’re viewing from, which is part of why the set photographs well for a listing or a portfolio, it doesn’t read as flat in a still image the way a plain square leg sometimes does. There’s also a structural upside, fluting slightly reduces the visual bulk of a leg without reducing its actual cross-section, so the table reads as lighter than its real weight suggests.
Cutting flutes cleanly into solid teak takes more time at the workshop than leaving the leg flat, and it’s not a step that can really be rushed without the grooves coming out uneven. We mention this mostly because it’s the kind of detail that’s easy to miss in a product photo but obvious the moment someone runs a hand down the leg in person.
Built as a Set, Sized to Actually Seat People
The table comfortably seats six with the two benches, and can stretch to eight if you’re not precious about elbow room. Benches run the full length of the table on either side, which ends up being more forgiving for uneven group sizes than fixed chairs, you can slide two more people onto a bench in a way you just can’t with a chair.
For hospitality use specifically, this shape works well in communal dining setups, farm-to-table restaurant concepts, or villa dining rooms where the table is meant to feel like a gathering point rather than individually assigned seats.
Benches Versus Chairs: A Question Worth Actually Thinking Through
Buyers occasionally ask whether they should just order the table with matching chairs instead of the bench pairing, and it’s a fair question. Benches trade individual back support for flexibility and a more relaxed, communal feel, better suited to long group meals than a quick solo lunch. They also stack and store more easily during a venue’s off-hours or seasonal changeover, since two benches take up less floor space than six individual chairs when pushed against a wall.
Chairs, on the other hand, make more sense where guests are expected to sit for extended periods or where individual back support matters more, a fine dining setting versus a casual farmhouse-style restaurant, for instance. If a property wants both options, we can usually produce a hybrid layout, benches on one side of the table and chairs on the other, which is a configuration we’ve built before for clients who wanted flexibility without committing fully to one seating style.

A Note on Maintenance
Wipe down with a soft, damp cloth, nothing more is really needed for regular upkeep. If the set lives somewhere with direct sun or occasional rain exposure, an oil treatment every so often keeps the honey tone from fading unevenly. Left alone entirely, it’ll weather to a soft grey, which some buyers actually prefer for a more lived-in look.
Sourcing for a Restaurant or Villa Project?
We get a fair number of requests to stretch this table longer than the standard 200 cm for larger group seating, that’s something we can usually accommodate on bulk orders.
